With more that approximately 200 existing variations of massage,
bodywork, and other therapies, it is often hard to decide which
one is the most appropriate for you.
I would like to provide
information on the techniques in which I was trained to use for
professional massage. I may employ several different techniques, exercises,
and modalities in a typical patient treatment session - it all depends
on the condition for which the treatment is intended. Click on the phrase
to learn more about Swedish Massage,
Bindegewebsmassage,
Trigger Point, Hydrotherapy,
Reflex Zone Therapy, and general terms such
as Sports Massage, Deep Tissue Massage, Medical Massage, and Relaxation Massage.
In addition to the massage approach, I was trained in Europe
in Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) / Complete Decongestive Physiotherapy
(CDP). This treatment has nothing to do with massage; it does
not have kneading elements and is generally applied only suprafascially
(whereas massage is usually applied to subfascial tissues).
